A glass prism is an equilateral triangle on one end
and is 6 inches long. The perimeter of the triangle is
3 inches. What is the total surface area of the
prism, exactly?
Since the perimeter is 3, each side of the triangle must be 1.
Recall one special triangle (half an equilateral) has a base of 1, hypotenuse 2 and height √3
The sample is half that - base=½, hypotenuse = 1, height = ½√3
Area of triangle = ½bh = ½ x 1 x ½√3=¼√3

Gail did not record the scores of the other teams, so we'll have to wait until those scores are posted, but here are the individual results.
Both Gold teams solved all 10 team problems. Unfortunately FHMS left off the units on one problem and lost 4 points - ouch!
