Below are the topics for meet 5. Please take a few minutes to review each topic so we can hold on to third place. If any of these are too hard to understand, you might search using the topic and khan academy and try some of the other videos, including practice videos.

Note that there are often more than one lesson to click on in each section. For example, 5.1 has 3 separate lessons. You can also go to the Heritage website and click on Math Team to see the lessons recommended by their teacher.

MEET 4 Dec 9

Meet4 will be held after school at St. Thomas Academy.
Check in with Mr. Heinemann by the bus loop circle. The math team bus will come from Heritage and pick you up at 3:35. We should be back to FHMS by 5:05, but be prepared to get a ride in case you miss the activity bus for your ride home.

Meet 2 Results

FHMS Outscored all teams behind us and we pulled away from St Thomas and Heritage.
Luke got a perfect score and moved up to 4th place. Anna and TJ are in the top 25.
I was a little disappointed in the team score of 26 until I noticed that only SPA-Gold scored higher.

Meet 1 Results and Meet 2 practice

MEET 1 RESULTS
Congratulations to FHMS's Luke (with 22 points) who is currently in the top 10 and Anna (with 20 pts) who is in the top 15. The  FHMS Gold Team scored 38 (out of a possible 40) points!
The Friendly Hills Gold Team score 115 points which was enough to edge out St. Thomas and Heritage by 2 pts and trail only the 2 SPA teams.

Math Team Lives! (barely)

I have arranged for students at FHMS and Heritage to participate in math meets.
There will be no practices - just meets. You can practice on your own by reviewing past blogs or going out to the league link in the upper right.
You will take the tests at your own school.
The last meet in January will either be at FHMS or we will take a bus there.

Friendly Hills will meet at 7:30 a.m. in room 123
Heritage will meet at 3:25 in room 160

2019-2020 Season

To the Heritage and Friendly Hills Math Teams:
I enjoyed working with all of you for many years, but I regret that I cannot do it this year. I have notified the gifted and talented coordinators and hope that they can find a replacement. I have volunteered to help the new coaches get up to speed quickly.

Meet 5 Results

Highlights:

Friendly Hills Gold came in 3rd place overall. 1st and 2nd went to SPA Gold and Blue
Friendly Hills Red once again outscored our gold team on the team test 16 to 4.
Friendly Hills Green/Blue alternates tied the gold team on the team test!
Stella scored 8 points - just enough to hold onto 10th place
Luke scored 12 points which put him in a tie for 10th place
Lucy got the highest score in the entire division (14) and came within 2 pt of medalling.
Charlie got a 10 on test B which was the highest score in the division!
Ellie scored 6 on test A, which was the second highest score in the division!
